Stephen Schneider was a role model for contemptuous, sneering, arrogant attitudes of younger climatologists--NoFrakking Consensus

UN officials have said it's not about climate anyway, it's simply a transfer of wealth. As a bonus, lots of people get to be nasty and hateful.

2/8/12, "Scientific Consensus, Leadership & Stephen Schneider," NoFrakkingConsensus

"But if we want to know where the contemptuous, sneering, arrogant attitudes of younger climatologists comes from, we need look no further than the example Schneider himself set . I’ve cut-and-pasted that 2003 e-mail below, leaving its grammar and spelling intact.

Addressed to an employee of the Environmental Defense Fund!! – and cc’d to a long list of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change insiders (see the bottom of this post for their names) – this e-mail is so nasty it makes me cringe. I apologize in advance to those being disparaged here, but it’s important not to avert our eyes. This is the mindset that anyone daring to challenge the supposed scientific consensus has been up against:

"Hello all. Ah ha – the latest idiot – McKitrick – reenters the scene. He and another incompetent had a book signing party at the US Capitol – Mike MacCracken went and he can tell you about it – last summer. McKitrick also had an article – oped, highly refereed of course – in the Canadian National Post on June 4 this year. [URL removed for brevity]

It was a scream. He argued there is no such thing as global temperature change, just local – all natural variablity mostly."...

Ed. note: Three top UN climate officials have already said it's not about climate but is about a "transfer of wealth," (citations listed below). Longtime government climate consultant and staunch advocate of global warming, Nigel Purvis, says it's about 3 things:

1/13/12, "US Republicans stir transatlantic tensions over climate change," EurActiv

"One senior US climate negotiator at Kyoto described...a collection of “toxic” ingredients.

There are three issues

  • constraining industry,
  • sending money abroad, and
  • strengthening the UN –

that are inflammatory on their own right,” Nigel Purvis, a State Department official under the Clinton and Bush administrations, said on the phone from Washington."...

Ed. note: "In 2008, Mr. Purvis served as a senior adviser on climate diplomacy to the Obama-Biden campaign." He is founder and president of Climate Advisers.

--------------------------------

1/7/12, 3 top UN climate officials, Edenhofer, Pachauri, and Figueres, say it's about cash not climate

The 'climate change' issue isn't about climate but a 'transfer of wealth' as stated by at least 3 UN officials:

1. UN IPCC Nobel winner, Pachauri: ""I am not going to rest easy until I have articulated in every possible forum the need to bring about major structural changes in economic growth and development. That’s the real issue. Climate change is just a part of it."" UN climate chief Pachauri, 2007

2. 11/14/10, Edenhofer, UN IPCC official, "But one must say clearly that we distribute to the climate policy de facto, the world's wealth."...(parag. 5).
And if this happens,
"Basically it is a big mistake, climate policy is separated from the major themes of globalization discussed. The climate summit in Cancun is not the...climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War." (parag. 4). Original German.

3. 10/9/10, Christiana "Figueres, executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)" said, "This is the greatest societal and economic transformation that the world has ever seen."
(Edenhofer, Pachauri and Figueres as UN figures can say and do whatever they want with US taxpayer money transferred to the UN. They're immune from criminal and civil prosecution (parag. 4). They can spend our money fixing up their summer home and we'll likely never know and can do nothing about it anyway (4th parag. fr. end) ).

------------------------------

USA Today reporter Doyle Rice (author of story posted at top) was informed about weaknesses of US gov. climate data in 2007 and that we relied on UK CRU Climategate figures for our global data. Apparently Doyle Rice hasn't revealed this information. Link to copy of email to USA Today's Doyle Rice from NASA, Aug. 29, 2007.

"USA Today did not follow this thread when offered in 2007, or at any time since, including as what was an enormous scandal (outside of the US establishment press) unfolded."...

3/23/10, "USA Today and NASA’s Bogus Data: ‘Global Warming’ Handmaiden," BigJournalism, C. Horner

=====================

Ed. note: None of this nasty business could have happened without politicians willing to funnel billions of US taxpayer dollars to academic programs that could provide justification that more taxpayer money was needed, that a world CO2 trading market infested with organized crime was needed too, and of course if the academics said there was no global warming
  • why would they need more money to research something that didn't exist?

Last is the all important media which became one with government and NGO's, traveled to exotic locales, and advocated what has been clearly stated is nothing but a transfer of money and sovereignty.
