Center for Biological Diversity and cities like Gary, Ind. unaware of crucial climate science of sustained US CO2 drop that's heading even lower

US CO2 has dropped drastically and is heading lower (links below including the NY Times). Therefore, if it was too hot this summer in the US, it couldn't possibly be the result of excess CO2. CO2 endangerment is a moot issue in the US. The Center will no doubt wish to advise cities they're coaching not to waste taxpayers' time contacting Obama about a non-existent problem. The Center says it seeks 'action' from Obama. Climate "action" has been mandated by the US government since 1990, 13 federal agencies are devoted to it today along with countless regulations and billions of taxpayer dollars.

9/5/12, "Gary, Indiana Joins Urgent Call for Climate Change Action," Center for Biological Diversity, press release

"In the wake of one of the hottest summers in U.S. history, Gary, Ind., has joined 35 other cities in supporting the use of the Clean Air Act to reduce greenhouse gas pollution to fight the risk of catastrophic climate change.

In passing a resolution Tuesday night, Gary became the 36th city to join the Center for Biological Diversity’s national Clean Air Cities campaign, which urges President Barack Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency to take action on global warming. Gary is the first city in Indiana to approve the resolution, which was introduced by councilmember Mary Brown."...

For those unaware of the good news, US CO2 emissions have dropped steadily since at least 2006 and are going lower. This has been acknowledged even in NY Times at least once. Other countries' CO2 hasn't dropped despite hundreds of billions spent on cap and trade and extra taxes. This isn't to say the US hasn't become partners with the 'climate' industry. Trillions have been taken from US taxpayers for climate expenses via outright agency budget allocations, tax subsidies, diversion of US military to climate or green projects, countless federal regulations, vast sums shipped out in foreign aid for 'climate' endeavors, etc. Devoting 13 federal agencies to 'climate' matters is hardly 'lagging' in action! Global Warming 'action' was institutionalized in US government in 1990 by George Bush the 1st in the "U.S. Global Change Research Act of 1990." (He mentions CO2 near the end). The US even exports fuel now.

At least some of the news has reached Pres. Obama because he made a passing reference to it on Aug. 28 without acknowledging its stunning meaning or that the findings referred specifically to CO2. He only used the term 'greenhouse gases,' and moved on allowing California's cap and trade profiteers to breath easy:

8/28/12, at Iowa State: "We’re on track to emit fewer greenhouse gases this year than we have in nearly 20 years. You can keep those trends going."

Even the NY Times noted Obama avoided connecting the meaning of these scientific findings to ordinary Americans on whose backs they were obtained. (Links listed below this post mention various reasons including greater reliance on natural gas and the economic recession).

The NY Times says:

8/28, "He did not note the role of the recession, with its attendant drop in manufacturing and car and truck trips."

----------------------------------------------

People invested in CO2 endangerment whether financially or emotionally have been caught by surprise. No one expected the US to turn around it's CO2 emissions as fast and as continuously as it has (whether they needed to be turned around or not). With trillions at stake in the CO2 industry, Obama and the media can't afford to tell the truth about it at least until after he's re-elected. But obviously it's over.

"What the government has not mandated, the economy is doing on its own: emissions of global warming gases in the United States are down.

A 2011 report noted EIA results through 2009, US CO2 emissions dropped steadily since 1999. If, hypothetically, US temperatures have been on the increase, they couldn't possibly be related to US carbon dioxide emissions:

CO2 alarmist 'glory days' are over in the US. Congratulations to the greens, you won, best of luck in your future endeavors:

"But there is one group (other than the Russians and the Gulf Arabs and the Iranians) that isn’t sharing in the general joy: the greens. For them, the spectacle of a looming world energy crisis was good news. It justified huge subsidies for solar and wind power (and thereby guaranteed huge fortunes for clever green-oriented investors). ...But those glory days are over now, and the smarter environmentalists are bowing to the inevitable."...

The figure, from a recent report from the Congressional Research Service (CRS), shows that despite another year of $1 trillion deficits, the Obama administration continues to pursue its policy of using foreign aid funds for anti-global warming measures – known as the Global Climate Change Initiative (GCCI).

According to CRS, the government has spent a total of $2.5 billion on GCCI since 2010 on overseas anti-global warming efforts in Latin America, Asia, and Africa."...
