Record snowfall on April 8 and 9, 2013 in Fairbanks, Alaska, record low temperatures in interior areas. Since 2000 Alaska has been a complete embarrassment to the CO2 terror industry

"Winter just won’t let go in Interior Alaska. On Thursday morning, the Fairbanks International Airport recorded a low of minus 21 degrees, the first time the April temperature has dipped below minus 20 since 1992.

Thursday’s cold doesn’t approach the record low for the day, set in 1911 at minus-32. But two other nearby stations did hit record lows. At the Eielson Air Force Base southeast of Fairbanks, temperatures dipped to minus 23, breaking the old record of minus 17 set in 1955. At the College observatory on the University of Alaska Fairbanks, located on a hill above the Tanana Valley, a low of minus 15 broke the old record of minus 7, set in 1985.

The Interior city was hit with record snowfall on both Monday and Tuesday, the National Weather Service reports. Tuesday's accumulations of 2.6 inches broke the record of 2.1 inches, set in 1982. The average snowfall for the entire month is 2.9 inches.

The bad news? More frigid winter weather is expected in Interior Alaska. “A gradual moderation in temperatures is expected across the Interior by the weekend but temperatures are expected to remain below normal for the foreseeable future,” the National Weather Service writes on its Facebook page.

In Anchorage, the snowstorms that dashed residents’ hopes of an early spring appear to have subsided, with sunshine on Thursday and more expected in over the weekend. Temperatures, however, will be colder than normal -- with highs in the 30s, and lows in the teens. Will winter finally give way to spring? It’s too early to tell. Late-season snowstorms have happened before; in 2008, more than two feet of snow fell in Anchorage in April, with a storm on April 25 dumping 15 to 22 inches on the city." thermometer photo, Alaska Dispatch. via Tom Nelson

Plenty of cold weather in Alaska during the past decade:

11/17/11, "Record smashing cold in interior Alaska, Fairbanks," Washington Post, J, Samenow

"A frigid Arctic air mass, unusual even by Alaska standards, is dropping the mercury in the state’s interior to unheard of levels in mid-November. Stunningly low temperatures in the -35 to -50 range have gripped the region since Tuesday. These temperatures are some 25 to 40 degrees colder than average.

This morning, Fairbanks airport dropped to 40 below zero, breaking the old record of 39 below. That’s after setting a record low of 35 below Tuesday morning, breaking the old record of 33 below from 1956. Wednesday’s low of -39 just missed 1969’s record of -41.

Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks dropped to an incredible 42 below Wednesday morning, shattering the old record of 37 below set in 1956. This morning, it dropped to 42 below again, setting another new record low. The average low is -7."...

The CO2 terror crowd prematurely used Alaska as "proof" of its multi-trillion dollar theory. It would be one thing if promoters were betting their own money, but they weren't. They were betting taxpayers' money.
